London School of Economics - PhD fellowship - Saturday, April 04, 2009
The Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment & the ESRC Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy at LSE are offering MPhil/PhD studentships in social justice in international climate change for entry in 2009. The studentships will cover full fees and annual living expenses, currently set at £15,290. This project will examine aspects of social justice in international climate change policy. A background in philosophy, political theory, or a related discipline is essential. The student will be part of a group studying 'Equitable Mitigation and Adaptation'. The project should address issues of fairness related to international financing, carbon markets, the Clean-Development Mechanism, mitigation versus adaptation or migration, political decision-making, or any other aspect of climate change policy. The studentship is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and in order to be eligible for full fees and living allowance students must meet the UK residency requirement. Tilburg University and Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science - PhD position - Saturday, September 22, 2007
The Department of Philosophy and the Tilburg Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science invite applications for a three-year full-time PhD position, commencing January 1, 2008. The successful candidate is expected to work on philosophy of economics, philosophy of social science or social choice theory and complete a PhD thesis within three years. The salary for a full-time employment agreement increases from 1.956 Euro gross a month in the first year to 2.387 Euro gross a month in the last year. The position is open to candidates with a master's degree or equivalent in philosophy or a social science. Candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a research proposal of maximally 5000 words, certificates, a transcript of courses taken (including grades), and two letters of recommendation.
